i did a master's thesis at the centre for cognitive science (cogsci), which is closely linked to the institute for adaptive & neural computation at edinburgh university. my first degree was in linguistics at university college london, majoring in meaning and psycholinguistics.

please feel free to examine my curriculum vitae.

there are various photos here, and you can see a selection of my cartoons if you have broadband or are of a patient disposition.

if you run the x window system you may be interested in my unicode bdf fonts.

my academic interests include neuroscience, self-organising/reinforced artificial neural networks, neuropsychology, (neuro)pharmacology, and philosophy. my master's thesis was a neural net model of learning in the cerebellar flocculus, the part of the brain that trains the vestibulo-ocular reflex (vor), a cortically mediated oculomotor reflex, and if you like that kind of thing you'll love my saccades paper i wanted to publish but never got around to.

there's a lookup table of neurotransmitters here.
